A summary of drawings I did in 2013.

 

Just like last year, I decided to one of these again.

Looking back at last years progress, I don't think I've improved so much this year. Epecially comparing the stuff from late last year to.. well, anything shown here. I need to work harder, dammit.

Whilst I did get myself into some fun art projects, what I'm disappointed about is the lack of drawing I actually did this year. I felt like like I could have done much more to improve, but a lot happened this year that left me in an art block-ish state for about half the year in the even during those important projects. It took weeks, sometimes months just to finish one piece, like in November's case (Also, October is actually a coloured line drawing from last year... orz).

Didn't have much to choose from when making this, so I just chose what I remember putting most effort into. Or in some cases the only thing I drew that month.

Oh, I also cheated, because December's isn't exactly finished yet. Still needs the background worked on a little. =p

ANYWAY, yep that's this then. I hope to progress more in the next year. AM GUNNA TRY MY BEST ;w;

It's that time of year.

Though I'm not really the festive type, I felt like drawing something Christmassy once again... It was rushed, since I started it on the turn of Christmas day... ^^"

I always seem to leave so little time left for these kinds of things...

Okay! Here's the second half of the Sketch Dump 6.

Just like the first one, risque stuff toward the end. Also some things I intend to work further on.

 Wanted to draw wind blowing the cloth/hair.

Maybe I just choose crappy brush settings in SAI, but sketches seem to look better when I do them in Photoshop..

 I like this one, but it doesn't feel like Futo to me, for some reason.

I'll definitely consider going back to this one, since I don't draw this kind of pose too often.

Youyoumu

An illustration for another project, "Letters to ZUN", again, presented at the AWA convention.

The project, initiated by Zucreelo, was a book which included a special thank you letter to ZUN from people across the globe, along with an accompanying piece of artwork or literature on the opposite page. I'm glad that this project made it through in the end, since it ran into a few hiccups leading to the Atlanta convention.

I was excited when I heard the news directly from ZUN's Twitter feed, that the book was delivered and was overwhelmed with joy to hear that he was deeply moved by this: our thank you gift to him for giving birth to the wonderful world of Touhou, that over the years has gathered many many fans from all over the world!

So thanks to Zucreelo and Maarika for organising the book, thanks to ArcEarth for encouragement, thanks and a job well done to all the contributors to this project, thanks to Ozuma for getting the book to AWA and to those gave the all clear for it to be delivered successfully and huge special thanks to ZUN, the man that brought us together through the awesomeness that is Touhou!

As for the drawing itself, I originally had the idea of drawing something based on Touhou Shinreibyou - Ten Desires, the 13th Touhou Project game and the one I've personally had most fun playing. But somehow, I drew something more Perfect Cherry Blossom-ish. Yuyuko also has her TH13 outfit, haha. I also tweaked it slightly since, so it's not exactly the same as in the book. I also wanted to redraw the butterflys, but in the end, I just settled for how it is now.

I ran into a few problems of my own after being asked to contribute to the project and I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to get anything done in time, but during the last 4 days before the deadline, I started the drawing and despite the flaws is has, was somehow able to pull it off in the end.

I think I've said a lot in this post, hah. But as unusual as it is, this time I actually had something to talk about...

Kasen Kasen

This is the drawing of Kasen Ibaraki for the Touhou Scroll Project collaboration headed by Totaku. The scroll was a gift given to ZUN at this years Anime Weekend Atlanta and included art from many artists.

I'm kind of envious of those who got to go and meet ZUN at the convention. Maybe I'll get to meet him myself one day... 

Along with this, I draw a chibi Kasen on an eagle!

Komeiji Sisters!

Not sure why I'm only just posting this here now. It's been a while since it was posted elsewhere.

Anyway, the Komeiji sisters are cute.
(has nothing meaningful to say...)

Will actually start posting here more often with crappy sketches and whatnot. Though I don't really draw too much these days pretty much due to lack of motivation. But what I do draw will be posted here at least (I do consider this blog my home for this sort of thing, after all). There's quite a few sketches piled up since the beginning of the year, so that's where I'll start, I guess.

Title is just because according to Mountain of Faith, she smells like sweet potatoes....

Painted on 7/27 in Photoshop after what feels like years of using Paint Tool SAI... In fact I remember the last thing I did in Photoshop... It was horrible, so I'm not linking it, haha. At any rate, it felt refreshing to just slap colours everywhere for change. I started to loathe using up a lot of time trying to carefully line and colour for mediocre results.

I would like to smell her.... What?

Been busy with a lot of things lately, but here is a collection of chibi Touhous I managed to draw over the past few months.

Harpy and Mystia, performing a crossover duet! How both delightful and ear-wrecking.
Harpy is from the game Madou Monogatari and also appears in the Puyo Puyo games. She happens to be the first non-Touhou character I've drawn in over a year, haha.

The End

I shall try to keep this blog up-to-date in the future. As for now though, I've been currently busy with a few art projects, which I hope to share here in a future post. I'm also trying to straighten things out in the real world, so drawing is something that's been really difficult for me to focus on lately. Gotta get that work done though, yo!

Started this one on 5th of January, working on it little by little. Made some big mistakes on this that I noticed when I flipped the image. >_> But I kind of like how the colouring turned out.

Also, the sketch of this was a lot more suggestive... Those eyes looked like... Nevermind.

Today is Koishi's day. A day of celerbration for Koishi Komeiji!

I'm not sure of the exact origin of this, but I discovered it on pixiv.

The date 5/14 (May 14th) is 5 (go) 1(ichi) 4(shi) and is read as, ko-i-shi, or "Koishi".  Thus, we have "Koishi's Day", or "Koishi no Hi".

...

Touhou fans. lol

Feel like I've been getting progressively worse since the beginning of the year and haven't drawn a single thing in the past two weeks until this. Feels bad. But I've been trying my best to get back in the "game". This is a good start though, I think.

Another Sketch dump. Haven't done one of these in a long time.

I selected a bunch of sketches that I felt like sharing, even if a lot of them were terrible. There are quite a few of them, all of which are digital, since I no longer have a scanner for traditional stuff. I also decided to split it into 3 posts of around 30 sketches or so.

I haven't drawn Alice for a while. I drew this a few days ago after talking with a friend, saying I should continue with a certain series of Alice pictures that I kind of just stopped half way. This was a quick drawing, attempting to get that certain look I drew her with on the "Yellow" one. I guess you can say this is preparation to continue that series. Hurray for lewdness!
